Adobe, Affinity, Figma, Miro, Sketch, Notion, among others... It may not be a very popular opinion, but I think it's more important for professionals to familiarize themselves with good practices and work with an efficient workflow. Tools can be easily learned. Even so, here is a brief overview of some of my main work tools.
GRAPHIC DESIGN & WEB DESIGN
For a long time I worked with Adobe xD, which ended up being one of the best known because of its package that involves Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, among others. I worked and still work with them on Windows. But I currently see a new trend that seeks to bring more alternatives to this type of "monopoly".
Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer are excellent examples of software that allow professionals to work more profitably, safely and legally. I use both on my MacBook.
PROTOTYPATION & UI/UX
Today, although I still work with Adobe xD from time to time, with the Anima Plug-in (turning the site created in xD into HTML and CSS, used in creating the final site).
Figma has become my favorite interface for prototyping, mainly because I work, in some cases, directly with the end client and remotely . This type of customer will often not have access to Adobe programs in a legal way, generating incentives for this type of practice, which ends up turning into a figurative avalanche of pirated product.
I like to make it easy for my customers to navigate my site and their sites... thus creating a safe environment, further increasing the value of the feedback I receive. Something real and true and not a simple "oh I don't know, I get it".
3D MODELING
As 3D modeling tools I have already used Autodesk Maya and ZBrush, but during my postgraduate studies in "Animation and Digital Art 2D and 3D", I I switched my entire workflow to Blender, which has a more active community of users, as it is free and Open Source software.
VIDEO EDITING
While still in graduate school I started using Adobe After Effects to create animations and edit videos. Today looking for more agility and portability with a focus on video editing for Social Networks I use mobile apps like the paid InShot, as well as slightly more robust alternatives like DaVinci Resolve on Windows or even iMovie on Mac devices to export videos in 4K and have more format options.
PROJECT ADMINISTRATION, TEAMS AND REMOTE WORK
During the time I worked with game development, between 2014 and 2016, I used Trello a lot for managing tasks between teams, Slack was used a lot as internal communication tool and digital product version control log.
The Discord was mostly used for external communication, with people outside the company or people who were working remote. Today I use Discord for video calls with clients, which can also be done via Skype, WhatsApp or Zoom, according to one's preference.
I currently use Miro or Notion, according to customer preference, for project administration and communication with my remote customers during projects.
I also have a forum created on my website (login / user area) for organizing and tracking Briefings and projects.
