Extensions, courses and certifications
What course do you take to work as a UX Designer, Product Designer, Product Owner, etc? It is very common for me to receive this type of question. I actually took several courses that focused on many different aspects of my job. This is a place where I intend to record the courses I've enjoyed and share my honest opinions about each course.
But why register this?
Many young artists come to me asking what class I took for this and that... Since I've already written many emails answering these questions I decided to create a page (very simple, by the way) to complement this exchange of experiences and make life easier for the shy ones who are too shy to ask these questions directly to me... I don't bite :P
Technical Development
University Graduation Diploma, Postgraduate and Extension

Social Communication
Marketing
(Graduation - 2005)
Bachelor of Technology - BTech, Web Design, Webmaster
(University Graduate)
Animation and 2D and 3D Digital Art
(Postgraduate Studies)
What I liked the most about this course
First contact with concepts of color psychology , typography, brand positioning in the market , branding and visual identity.
At the time, there was not much talk about marketing on social media. We used Orkut, which needed an invitation to enter. The internet "was all bush" .
It was with this course that I learned to work with Photoshop and Illustrator . I learned to use a professional camera and develop analog photographs in the lab , my favorite place to pass the time.
I ended up focusing on Web Design while her husband (who was studying Systems Analysis and Development) helped with the programming part, which wasn't very heavy in this course... we used more markup language.
I realized that I like to pay special attention to the User Interface and I try to make the website / application / game as friendly as possible.
At this point I was already mixing the two courses and started making digital games with my husband on weekends... just for fun.
I had a lot of difficulty editing videos and I decided to fill up this need with a. post-grad.
As a bonus I learned more 3D modeling techniques using Zbrush, which allows me to make digital sculptures. A bit of Blender later in "the game".
TCC focused entirely on the Psychology of Colors in cinema and its associations to emotions that are capable of awakening in each scene..

The Language of Design:Form and Meaning
(by California Institute of the Arts | CALARTS)
In my own translation to Brazilian Portuguese:
A linguagem do design: forma e significado
A course focused on the technical language of Design. It helped with a lot with new terms, mainly because it was an all-English course. I recommend it to anyone who also needs to expand their vocabulary and more technical knowledge.

Design: Creation of Artifacts in Society
(by University of Pennsylvania)
Theory and practice very well balanced with weekly challenges to be done throughout the course.
The classes taught by the vice dean Karl T. Ulrich played a key role in developing my ability to solve problems for my clients in a more efficient way, as the teacher approaches the Design process and its stages very well until reaching the final product.
The course covers Design in a very broad way and even talks about product design, architecture and services ... which for me was fantastic in the development of my own brand products, making them more interesting and allowing me to offer better services to my clients.
In my own translation to Brazilian Portuguese:
Design: Criação de Artefatos na Sociedade
Developing Other Skills
From here on, everything I studied out of curiosity and desire to learn something new that could potentially collaborate in my personal and professional growth and contribute to my empathy process to better understand the user.

Clinical Psychoanalysis
Currently Studying
(by IBPC, Brazilian Institute of Clinical Psychoanalysis - 2021)
Studying Clinical Psychoanalysis allows me to do an even better work with the Tarot Therapy. Enabling, in an even broader way, the use of this very rich therapeutic tool that helps the processes of self-knowledge and builds a bridge between the conscious and the unconscious mind.
With these tools working together, it is possible to bring memories, dreams, symbols from the unconscious plane, through techniques such as: free association of ideas, words, interpretation of dreams, interpretation of drawings (symbols), runes and tarot decks.
My goal is to help more and more people to have a better understanding of themselves and to overcome pain, trauma, complexes, fears and blocks, so that they can undertake and invest in their career goals, feeling more confident and secure in their decisions.

Healing with the Arts
(by University of Florida)
Endorsed by
Dr. Jean WatsonandWatson CaringScience Institute

In my own translation to Brazilian Portuguese:
Curando com a Arte
This course helped me to get a good introduction to art as a therapeutic tool.
Again I saw concepts of Color Psychology, the emotions they trigger and how to apply this knowledge to therapeutic approaches for people and animals.
Interesting to see how each color emits a different vibration and how it can be used in a positive way, which can benefit even those who cannot see the colors.
The course's approach was very broad, including visual arts, music and dance. Focus on health and well-being.

Art teacher preparation program
(380 hours)
With this course I could expand my portfolio of activities and techniques for teaching art. My goal is to eventually teach more about painting on my website.
The pedagogical approach of this course was a "key" instrument for the development of more efficient teaching techniques.

Oil painting
(140 hours)
Fundamental for the improvement of my own my own mixed technique of Radicant Painting influenced by the concept of Altermodernity, breaking boundaries between traditional and digital art, subsequent to the artistic expression of postmodernity.

Art Therapy
(550 hours)
Course focused on art-rehabilitation , which takes place through various forms of artistic expression. Art also favors the expansion of thought and feelings.
It is important to know ways to provide access to art for all types of people, considering the adaptations both at the individual-body level and in the physical space.
Providing experiences that lead the patient to more easily accept the therapy.

International Certification in Color Therapy
(Prof Krishna Sharma, Ph.D.)
The International Certification in Chromotherapy came to converge my studies, over 12 years, with respect toColor Psychology and its numerous applications in several areas, including as instrument therapeutic for the treatment of physical and emotional conditions.
This was a super updated study, taught by Prof. Krishna N. Sharma, Ph.D, the youngest vice chancellor in the world, world record holder as an educator, researcher and prolific author.
I was able to understand how today, with the advancement of studies on the subject we use light sticks at specific points on the body, based on acupuncture. Food and even immersion baths are also used as forms of treatment!

Usui Reiki reinforced my perception that everything is energy. Regardless of religion or beliefs. Many share and depart from this same reasoning.
The energetic intention when it is benevolent becomes something universal that becomes the presence of light and it surpasses language, time and space barriers.
The study and practice of this alternative therapy helps me to understand the needs that come to me and helps me to develop more sensitive and extrasensory solutions for each case through energetic manipulation, practiced through Reiki.
Personal project
It may seem strange to think of Canine Training when talking about UX (User Experience), but when you stop to analyze more deeply what a Positive Reinforcement training is, you understand that users are constantly being trained and receiving rewards for correctly using apps, social networks, digital products and more!
While I view the study of canine cognition as a hobby, I've also been amazingly able to draw some parallels with my profession and that was a bonus worth sharing.

Dog Emotion and Cognition
(by Duke University)
To read more about this subject: How I Teach My Dogs to Talk.

In my own translation to Brazilian Portuguese:
Emoção e Cognição Canina
This course was very interesting and useful this course onCanine Psychology. I could understand how it worksdog reasoning. The various types of intelligence they have, just like us humans are smart in different ways, dogs are also individuals with their particularities.
It is this particularity that I try to take into account when I am creating a User Interface. I feel I need to consider the different types of intelligences and how UI Design can communicate to as many people as possible to generate an enjoyable and memorable experience.
