Note about Fibromyalgia ICD 10 M79. 7 and Brazil's PWD (Person With a Disability) legislation.
The Legislative Chamber of the Federal District, in Brasília, Brazil, is working on a bill PL 2.308/2.308/1, which recognizes as a PWD (Person with a Disability) the person who is affected by Fibromyalgia (ICD 10 M79. 7). A proposal, authored by deputy João Cardoso (Avante), also includes May 12 in the Federal District's official calendar as the official period for raising awareness and fighting the disease. One of the reasons for the initiative is a lack of specific legislation covering the entire country.
